OurKnappyRootz at TikTok’s First Fete: Celebrating Black Culture and Caribana
Recently, OurKnappyRootz had the honour of attending TikTok’s First Fete, an event designed to celebrate Black culture and the vibrant spirit of Caribana in the city. This invitation meant the world to us, especially knowing that Bria from TikTok personally invited us after seeing our content months ago. She shared that when it was time to plan the event, OurKnappyRootz stood out in her mind, making this experience even more special for us.
Representing Black Beauty at TikTok's First Fete
We were proud to represent the Black beauty market at the event, surrounded by other incredible vendors who are equally passionate about serving the community. We were in great company with businesses like:
- The Villij, a wellness studio dedicated to women of colour.
- Butter and Spice Bake Shop, an amazing bakery that had us raving about their delicious s'mores brownies (seriously, try them and thank us later!).
The event was filled with joy and celebration, with live entertainment that included vibrant masqueraders dancing, delicious food, and a room full of energy.
Memorable Moments and Connections
One of the highlights of the night was meeting Aqyila, an incredibly talented singer who added to the lively atmosphere. We made sure to share the magic of OurKnappyRootz with everyone in the room, ensuring they got their OKR and felt the love we have for the Black beauty community.
A Celebration of Culture and Community
TikTok’s First Fete was more than just an event—it was a celebration of the rich culture and heritage of the Black community, and we were thrilled to be part of it. From the food to the entertainment, and especially the connections we made, it was a night we won’t soon forget.
We left feeling inspired, energized, and grateful for the continued support of our growing community. Thank you to TikTok, Bria, and everyone who made this event unforgettable.
