We were invited to the Buy From a Black Woman event presented by H&M yesterday, and what a day it was. The energy was incredible, the support was real, and we're still riding the high, so let us tell you how it went.
We kicked off with a welcome meeting and you could feel it in the room immediately. A room full of Black women entrepreneurs, ready to connect, support each other, and celebrate one another's wins, that energy alone said everything. The Director of H&M was actually there in person, which said a lot about how seriously they're backing Black women owned businesses.
Once things got going, the room had this buzz to it. People kept stopping us to say they recognized us from TikTok, and that hit different. Seeing people recognize the brand in real life, outside of a phone screen, is a feeling we won't forget.
We spent the whole day talking textured hair care with people, telling our story, and introducing brand new people to the products. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and we left feeling more motivated than ever to keep building.
This wasn't just a business opportunity, it was a reminder of what community actually does for us. Grateful doesn't even cover it. It reminded us exactly why we started OurKnappyRootz in the first place: to be something bigger than just a product, a real platform for change.
